As part of the Big in Ghana Talent Hunt and Tour featuring FOKN Bois, Efya and Yaa Pono, the organizers are putting together a two-pronged forum, ‘Your Money Your Music Workshop’ for artists, producers, promoters and other stakeholders, today August 18 , 5.30pm at Sytris in Osu.
The first goal of the workshop is to share with and educate stakeholders on the opportunity of sync licensing. Sync stands for the synchronization of music with video. Although musicians in Ghana generally don’t get paid for the rights to their music, the opportunity still exists in the United States and Europe. Pim Betist, CEO of Africa Unsigned (Amsterdam) and John Williamson, co founder and COO of Music Dealers (Chicago) will explain how. The second goal for the workshop is to give participants the latest on social media and how artists can benefit from it individually and by clustering their fan base.
