Vector releases single with Mavado + rumours of collabo with DMX
After previous rumours that Nigerian rapper, Vector was recording with dancehall star, Mavado turned into reality this week, there are already talks about the lyricist teaming up with Ruff Ryder rap maestro, DMX. The rumours hit the worldwide web after a photo of Vector and DMX popped up on several social media. Meanwhile, Vector’s collaboration with Mavado, ‘Born Leader’ is receiving good response with several thousands of downloads already. Olanrewaju Ogunmefun a.k.a Vector has been widely celebrated as one of the best rappers from Lagos, Nigeria. His journey into hip hop dates back to junior high in the year 1997 as he’s vibrantly involved in social activities entertaining his peers from the stage as a young rapper. In 1999 he formed a group “Badder Boiz”. So determined they were about hip hop that they started writing their own songs and along the line, in the same year, they started performing at showcases combining their various skills, aimed at selling the underground sound to the surface. They recorded their first demo series in 1999. The three did not leave any stone unturned as far as making their presence felt at talent showcases. Vector was going the way of an emcee as his freestyle skills became obvious to the other members of the group. Vector’s versatility runs through the fast and equally slow tempo, a rapper cum lyricist, an excellent songwriter, and producer. Vector is an undisputed emcee endowed with freestyle skills and flair that he awesomely displays on several freestyle battles e.g. Channel O Lagos Party at the Vaults, Unilag Rap King Etc. Vector has become synonymous with creating raves and hitting the mark when it’s all about making tunes. He is one act that craves for songs transforming into lifestyle and beats that will transcend our Hip Hop boarders. Not stopping there he plans to affect lives positively with his chosen career further proving a point globally with numerous Crossover-Hybrid synergies with Naija Hip Hop songs to his credit, such as his collaboration with Maye Hunta on the track titled “Paparazzi (Superstars)“, which eventually became the theme song for BigBrother Africa Allstars. Vector is an artist loved and appreciated by all both musically and personally. Apart from his style of music being loved and appreciated by all, he has this charm that attracts all the girls to him. Every girl loves an intelligent man and Vector sure is one. Apart from that, Vector is very hardworking and constantly working in the studio so he can please his fans who appreciate his kind of music and who have supported him all the way. Vector is officially signed to YSG Entertainment. His debut album “State Of Surprise” boasts certified hits like the critically acclaimed single, “Get Down” which features Tuface Idibia was released in October 2010.]]>
