Screen shot 2012 06 19 at 2.15.22 AM Photos: VIP and friends rock New York Ghana’s top selling and award-winning hiplife group, VIP last weekend thrilled thousands of music fans in the United States of America at the hugely anticipated Ghana Summer Jam concert at Armenia Ball Room in New York. The trio performed a streak of their hit songs from their over one decade music career.
The show was part of the group’s Vision Tour that will soon extend into other states and countries.  The group commented on their performances during the concert: “It is always good to feel welcomed in territories outside your home country as an artist. The New York crowd made up of Ghanaians, Africans and other nationals, didn’t only show up in their numbers but gave us and the other artists a lot of love. The energy was amazing and we felt it through the dancings, screaming and singing along to our hit songs.”
VIP was supported with performances from fellow Ghanaians acts such as the sexy female rapper, Tiffany; rapper and singer, Castro the Destroyer; US based Ghanaian rapper, Nana NYC many others.  Partial proceeds from the concert with benefit the Girls Institute of Science and Technology in Agogo, Ghana.
VIP has been making the headlines across Africa since they surfaced on the music scene over a decade ago. Their latest single, ‘Pampana’ featuring EL, was recently premiered across the continent on MTV Base..
