Africa Magic Ghana relaunch 21An impressive list of film makers, producers, actors, TV personalities including Majid Michel, Majid Michel, Jackie Appiah, Chris Attoh, Joselyn Dumas, Desmond Elliot, Ama K Aberese and others attended the official launch of the rebranded AfricaMagic channels, held at the La palm Royal Beach Hotel, Thursday evening. The launch party, which is part of a two-day celebration of the new AfricaMagic channels in Accra also saw the charming Big Brother Africa host IK Osakioduwa and the gorgeous 53 Extra leading lady Eku Edewor making an appearance.  The exciting night of cocktails, photos and networking included highlights such as Eku joining her Nigerian counterparts, IK and Desmond Elliot to battle  the Ghanaian stars Majid, Chris Attoh and Alex Biney of Big Brother Amplified fame in a dance-off to test the  ‘Alanta’ and ‘Azonto’ dance skills from both set of stars. Also present were Confidence Haugen (also from Big Brother Amplified), Emilia Brobbey, Shirley Frimpong Manso, Socrates Safo, Jon Germain, KOD and others. There was also a musical performance from Efya while Managing Director of M-Net Africa, Biola Alabi and Managing Director of Multichoice Ghana, Cecil Sunkwa-Mills threw more light on the exciting changes in the AfricaMagic channels.  The special guest of honour, Minister of Information, Fritz Baffour in his address welcomed the new changes and congratulated M-net for the many years of providing quality TV programming for families across Ghana. The general public can meet the star on the AfricaMagic tour at the Accra Mall on Friday April 27 for a once-off autograph signing session. Fan should be sure to get there early because the stars are only available from 12:00 – 14:00. As of Monday April 16, there are now five specifically themed and branded AfricaMagic channels – the refreshed and family focused AfricaMagic (DStv channel 114); the traditional, heritage based AfricaMagic Movies (DStv channel 115, previously AfricaMagic Plus), the re-branded AfricaMagic World (DStv channel 112, formerly the MagicWorld channel) and the contemporary movie channel, AfricaMagic Movies 1 (DStv channel 145). At the heart of the change, fans should look out for the stylish, glamourous and bold AfricaMagic Entertainment (DStv channel 128). This new channel is the new home for M-Net’s flagship African productions such as Tinsel, Jacob’s Cross, 53 Extra and Jara with the dramatic new soapies Adams Apples, The Wild and Inkaba also featured on the action-packed channel line-up.
