Under the auspices of the British High Commissioner to Ghana, Mr. Peter Jones, the Ghana UK Based Achievement (GUBA) Awards 2012 was officially launched in Ghana at his residence in Accra, Thursday evening. The launch ceremony was attended by Former President, John Agyekum Kufuor, Archbishop Duncan-Williams and Information Minister, Fritz Baffour who launched the 2012 edition of the prestigious awards.

 

Also present were several captains of industry, media personalities, as well as a number of Ghana-based nominees. Dentaa, founder of the awards shared a touching story about her journey with awards which including selling off her car to organize the maiden edition. She therefore called for the support of corporate bodies towards the organization of the awards that celebrates Ghanaian achievers. The GUBA Children’s Foundation also announced its partnership with the Autism Awareness and Care Centre. The partnership seeks to address the issue of autism and its prevalence in Ghana and raised awareness of the lack of funding and recognition of autism.
