Ghanaian gospel singer, Cwesi Oteng, who is making a huge statement for African gospel all over the world, will storm the National Theatre with his Flo Riva Incorporated music crew in the pre-launch celebration concert of his most anticipated Mercy Project on this Sunday, July 17.
The pre-launch concert will also have on the bill notable African gospel greats including the celebrated Aaron T. Aaron (London), Atta Boafo (London), multi-talented Kofi Dua Anto (KODA) and Ghana’s gospel praise king, Joe Mettle. The Africa Gospel Music Awards Nominee and Ghana Gospel Industry Awards winner’s Mercy Project is a music and social cause project which is aims to reach out to the lost, needy, poor, rejected and condemned in society. The music aspect of the project includes music tours, outreaches and evangelism programmes to schools, churches, communities and prisons propagating the news about God’s mercy and salvation while the social cause aspect seeks embark on donation drives to the poor and needy in society to improve upon their standard of living while promoting youth empowerment and Christian service.
Cwesi Oteng explains that the Mercy Project is a dear project to his heart and that of his team. “For us it is what God has laid on our heart and having the opportunity just not only to propagate God’s salvation message and create the awareness of his mercy but importantly too impact positively on the non-privileged in society and improve upon their lives gives us great joy and we look forward to it. Therefore I expect everyone to troop the National Theatre this Sunday at 5pm so we have a great music experience and in effect raise funds courtesy the gate proceeds to execute this social cause and music project- the Mercy Project.”
Cwesi Oteng is a passionate young minister of music with a unique style that blends African rhythms with urban or contemporary elements backed with powerful messages. After a serving in the Praise & Worship ministry of his local church for well over a decade, Cwesi got the opportunity to pour out his passion on his 15-track maiden album, ‘Blessed Are They’. The album introduced Cwesi as unique breed of music minister. Later as a build-up to the Mercy Project, he released the popular single, ‘Mercy’ (But for Your Mercy) together with a creative video which is made waves all over, earning him nominations in continental and local gospel awards as well as opening doors to amazing opportunities for him.
Tickets for the ‘Mercy Revealed Concert’ pre-launch concert of Cwesi Oteng’s Mercy Project will be available at the gates of the National Theatre and for GHc 15 (single) and GHc 25 (double). Patrons will get a free CD of Cwesi Oteng’s new singles. Advance tickets are also available at Sunny FM and Sweet Melodies.
