Blakk Rasta eyes ministerial position?

Published

on

blakk rastaOutspoken reggae musician and radio presenter Blakk Rasta, has said on Koforidua-based Vision 90.9FM’s entertainment analysis programme, ”Arts and People” that he was ever prepared to take a ministerial portfolio from any government that approached him. Speaking to host Kwame Dadzie who sought to know if he would accept an offer from any government to be the Minister for Arts and Entertainment (should it be created), he said he was more than competent to be a minister. ”Yes, my brother, I would not mind doing it at all because I can do it and do it well. I am looking forward to such opportunity so I can use my position to influence the lot of ignorant souls we have in this country especially the youth”, Blakk said. However, he was quick to add that he would accept such a portfolio if there is not going to be partisan strings attached. ”I have always not liked to be involved in partisan politics because it is dirty, and that is why I would not take such a position on partisan grounds. I would want to operate from my consciousness without restrictions from any one”, he added. Asked if the award given him by Ghana Music Awards organizers Charterhouse, for his ”Miss Right” as Best Reggae Song of the Year would keep his mouth zipped on issues about Charterhouse and their music awards, he responded that no one could bribe him with an award and was ready to criticize if he is convinced that his criticism was warranted and sound. Blakk Rasta said that if the organizers decided to ban him for three years for bashing them and have now come to their senses to lift the ban, he just had to take the award, for after all he deserved it.]]>
