Kumasi winners vert horzThe Big in Ghana Talent Hunt, a search for the best of undiscovered musical talent from 4 cities to represent their cities on the FOKN Bois’s ‘Gimme Pinch’ tour, visited Kumasi and Accra for the final lap of selection over the weekend.  Two artists had already selected each in Takoradi and in Tema it it was time for the two largest cities to show what they had to offer. The winners in Kumasi, N.T.4 and Blakz, turned out to be rap duos with completely different styles.  In Accra things got crazy because more than a one hundred artists showed up ready to perform. The organization ran out of registration forms and time to listen to all contestants. The artists that made it to the venue on time were rewarded with their chance to shine. Those who were late will have to wait for next year’s event. In Accra, the judges chose Taurian Deveaux, an impressive female vocalist and Richie, a singer songwriter who accompanied his lyrics with a guitar. After the Accra event the judges felt that there was still one contestant missing amongst the finalists. They decided to pull one wild card to give this amazing artist the chance to share the big stage with Efya, Yaa Pono and FOKN Bois. The name of this artist is Bryte. His stage presence, punch lines and audience interactions exceeded all expectations. “I’m really happy to see Bryte in the next round. His future as a musician is so bright he must wear shades” said Yaa Pono about the judges’ decision. This following week the finalists will play live for FOKN Bois, who will arrive in Accra on Wednesday from their Europe tour. The FOKN Bois, with help from EFYA and Yaa Pono, will bring the list down to one artist from each city who will join them on their tour and stand the chance to win GHC 20.000 worth of prizes. The finalist for now are Anass (Takoradi), King Lucas (Takoradi),  B.Brain (Tema),  Ohene Amoako (Tema),  N.T.4. (Kumasi), Blakz (Kumasi),  Richie (Accra),Taurian Deveaux (Accra),  Bryte (Accra) Big in Ghana Tour dates are as follows: Friday, August 24 – Jubilee Park, Takoradi Saturday, August 25 – Chemu Park C.7, Tema Friday, August 31 – Cultural Center, Kumasi Saturday, September 1st – Holy Gardens, Accra Big in Ghana is sponsored by Bavaria.]]>
