Published

ik osakioduwaJust days after the exciting launch of the AfricaMagic channels on DStv, the channel is now bringing together a star-studded cast for a special two-day celebration in Accra. Joining charming Big Brother Africa host IK Osakioduwa is gorgeous 53 Extra leading lady Eku Edewor and Ghanaian Tinsel star Chris Attoh while our very own sensational Jackie Appiah and dashing Majid Michel round off the glittering group of celebs. In town to meet with local media, chat with enthusiastic fans and engage with film industry professionals, they will be joined by M-Net Africa Managing Director Biola Alabi who will host a special gala showcase for invited stakeholders to highlight the expanded range of five AfricaMagic channels. Commenting on the trip to Accra, Alabi is clearly pleased. “I am so happy that we can celebrate this latest milestone in the AfricaMagic story in Ghana. It’s one of our key markets and our audiences here are so appreciative of AfricaMagic that we wanted them to share in this highlight moment in a very tangible way. We know that they tune in to our channels regularly so we thought it was a great plan to create a platform for some of the stars of AfricaMagic to meet with their fans.” So fans, make sure you head to the Accra Mall on Friday April 27 for a once-off autograph signing session – but make sure you get there early because the stars are only available from 12:00 – 14:00 before they jet out of the country. So it’s first come, first serve. As of Monday April 16, there are now five specifically themed and branded AfricaMagic channels – the refreshed and family focused AfricaMagic (DStv channel 114); the traditional, heritage based AfricaMagic Movies (DStv channel 115, previously AfricaMagic Plus), the re-branded AfricaMagic World (DStv channel 112, formerly the MagicWorld channel) and the contemporary movie channel, AfricaMagic Movies 1 (DStv channel 145). At the heart of the change, fans should look out for the stylish, glamourous and bold AfricaMagic Entertainment (DStv channel 128). This new channel is the new home for M-Net’s flagship African productions such as Tinsel, Jacob’s Cross, 53 Extra and Jara with the dramatic new soapies Adams Apples, The Wild and Inkaba also featured on the action-packed channel line-up.]]>
