Hiplife trio 4×4 will launch their 5th studio album with a free Street concert on Accra’s infamous Osu Oxford Street, Friday, December 9.
The album, ‘Waist and Power’ has already spawned 3 chart topping singles namely “Waist and Power” the title track, ‘Womanizer’ and ‘Yesii Yesii’; and according to group leader, Captain Planet: “The Osu Oxford street choice as venue will not only help bring us closer to our fans, but will afford us the opportunity to connect and give them an early Christmas gift”
The album has 12 tracks all written and composed by 4×4, and it is being released under their own X4 Records label. According to group member, Coded, the Waist and Power album is a tribute to the African man from an African woman. It celebrates the strengths, work and deeds of true black men who show love care and kindness to their women.
The album launch is expected to feature an exciting line-up of supporting acts including VIP, Buk Bak, Castro, Tinny, 5five, Ruff-n-Smooth, Asem, Stay Jay, Trigmatic, Jupiter, EL, J Town, Keche, Chemphe, Eduwodzi, Pope Skinny, Diamond, Mzbel, D-Cryme, D-Black, D-Money, Saint Riya, Samini and more. This launch is a prelude to their 2012 Ghana tour to be followed by African tour later in the year.
